उपशाया/अनुपशाय

१. गूढ़ लिङ्गं व्याधिमुपशयानुपशयाभ्यां परीक्षेत्।। (च.वि. ४/८) किसी व्याधि के लक्षण अति अल्प हो अथवा छुपे हुये हो तो रोगों का निदान (Diagnosis) उपशय व अनुपशय द्वारा किया जाता है। गूढ़ लिङ्ग व्याधियों की परीक्षा 'उपशय-अनुपशय' द्वारा की जाती है। जैसे- शोथ स्नेहन, उष्ण उपचार तथा मर्दन से शांत होता है स्नेहनादि को उपशय कहते हैं। २. हेतु व्याधिविपर्यस्तविपर्यस्तकारिणाम्। औषधान्न विहारणामुपयोगं सुखावहम्।। विद्यादुपशयं व्याधेः सहि सात्म्यमिति स्मृतः। विपरीतोऽनुपशयो व्याध्यसात्म्यमिति स्मृतः।। (अ.ह.नि. १/६-७) उपशय:- उपशय का अर्थ है चिकित्सीय परीक्षण या मार्गदर्शन और प्राचीन आयुर्वेद की नैदानिक कला में नैदानिक उद्देश्यों के लिए उपयोग किया जाता था। "औषध अन्ना विहरनम उपयोगम सुखावाहम्" का अर्थ है ...
